He is survived by: his wife Suzy Percival Smith; his children, Jordan Michael Smith (Terra) and Hannah Jane Smith; his siblings, Margaret Halko (Dave), Janice Hassenpflug (Roger), Patricia Buck (John), Mary Supold (Steve), Jean Clinch (Casey), Laura King, Catherine Roen (Jonathan), Rebecca Crider (Jeff), Robert Smith (Pam), Mark Smith (Penny) and Paul Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Louise Evered (Laura Percival) and Dan Percival. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like memorial donations to be sent to Wild Montana.
