He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lloyd and Bernice Petty (Wheeler); his wife Norma Heinle; and his brothers, Warren Petty of Fargo and Dwight Petty of Spokane, Washington..
He is survived by: his sons, Kirk (Carole) of Ranchester and Charles, Jr. (Kayla) of Priest River, Idaho; his grandchildren, Brian Petty (Alison) of Moscow, Matthew Petty (Hailey) of Ranchester, Michelle Petty of Laramie, Christianne McKay (Corban) of North Bend and Allison Jampsa (Kyle) of Kent, Washington; and his great grandchildren, Owen, Silvia and Wesley Petty of Moscow, Idaho. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to Marcus Daly Hospital (Bitterroot Health), the Daly Mansion, or the United Methodist-American Baptist Church in Hamilton, Montana.
