With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Gerald Butkay of Hardin, Montana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 10, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Butkay and Florence Butkay; and his sisters, Bev Pulver and Glory Bigelow. He is survived by: his wife Neita Mae Butkay (Torske); his sister Kay O'Donnell; and his grandchildren, Steven Belden, Josh Anderson (Sofia), Tanner Butkay (Sarah), Jana Bruce (Travis), Todd Butkay (Jessica), Josh Harlan (Beth), Samantha Link (Jason), Sarah Xiong (Lucky), Jessica Peoples (Dan) and Abby Cesarz (Cody).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Big Horn County Museum, or to a charity of one's choice in Jerry's memory.
