He was predeceased by: his parents, John Melby and Beulah Melby (Cooper); his siblings, Mildred Wilson, Frances Halter, Retha Ernst, Lois Knutson, Charles, Raymond and Arlen Melby; and his parents-in-law, Richard and Jean Callies.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Callies-Melby; his brother Marvin Melby (Booba); and his brothers-in-law, Rick Callies (Junie) and Gary Callies (Jackie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
