He was predeceased by: his parents, James Garfield Head (Juanita Sue Lyman) and Katherine LaVonne Park. He is survived by: his siblings, Pansy S. Vylasek, Edna F. Duff, Linda K. Winchell and James D. Head. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

John's family has suggested memorial donations be made to an animal shelter of the donor's choice.
