He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Arlene Blackbird Sandoval and Floyd Hopkins; his grandparents, Manny, George, Ella Blackbird and Ella Cloud Robe; his aunts and uncles, Margaret "Peggy" Ball, Angela Denny, Jean Campbell, Bernice "Beanie" Johnson, Leona "Moldy" Small, George Blackbird II, Walter Blackbird and Robert Blackbird; his cousin Elmer Blackbird; his sibling's children, Mardell Castillo and Elmeretta Blackbird; his extended family Clarena Brockie; and his friends, Lesa Muckley, Kate Miller, Linda Hofer, Shelly Fiant, Sheila Lipps, Evanne Deines, Luana Ross and Sandra Counter.
A wake was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (210 Chippewa, Fort Belknap Agency, MT 59526). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
He had several contributions to Buffalo Bill Historical Center and exhibits.
