He was predeceased by : his parents, Bernadine Tompkins (Erickson) and Elwood Tompkins; his daughter Cinda Tompkins; his niece Hilary Tompkins; and his sister-in-law Myrle Tompkins.

He is survived by : his wife Patsy Lovely; his daughters, Kathleen Field (Edward), Jaime Tompkins and Gwen George (Brook); and his grandchildren, Ryan, Paul Field, Samuel and Sophia George.
