It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of JoAnn Lester Anderson of Helena, Montana, who passed away on September 15, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Lester and Margaret Lester. She is survived by: her former husband Jim Stevens; her daughters, Maribeth and Kathleen; her stepson Dugan Anderson (Terry) of Kalispell; her grandchildren, Kory Broussard of Helena and Lane Anderson of Kalispell; her siblings, Sister Margaret Lynn Lester, Jim Lester (Wilene) of Butte and Kim Scott (David) of Fresno, CA.; her siblings' children, Christopher (Mandy), Cara Lester, Joey (Krystan), Jenny Lester, Mark (Stephanie) and Bryan Scott (Megan); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Henry, Ruby, Alexander, Sophia, Bradie (Tyler), Kadyn, Brayden, Jayden, Keeleigh, Layklyn, Gavin, Connor and Charlotte; her cousins, Lori Paull (Gary), Shelly Malkovich, Peggy Reardon (Emmett) and Patty Ann Lester; her friends, Helen Fandrich, Dee Durand, Lynn Staley, Billi Jo Meglen, Bobbi Murphy, Shirley Reinig, Pauline Hames and Mary Lou Bruno; her husband Ralph Anderson; her stepson Doug; her brother Thomas Lester; and her pets, Puff, Mazie Mae and Cinnamon.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM. A vigil service was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Anderson Stevenson Wilke and Retz Funeral Home (3750 N Montana Ave, Helena, MT 59602). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 12:10 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Community (1700 Missoula Ave, Helena, MT 59601).
