He was predeceased by : his wife Lola Miller; his parents, Neilo Oja and Gladys Oja; his sister Lynn; his brother-in-law Larry Bowers; his nephew Jason Sexton; and also, Lyle and Charlotte Miller.

He is survived by : his children, Tami, John, Dale and Cheri DeCock (Dale) of Colstrip, MT; his grandson Laramie Davies; his daughter Sophie Jane of Red Lodge, MT; his granddaughter Randa Ross (Trever); his children, Wade Dean, Woodrow Gene and Wyndser Raye of Jordan, MT; his grandson Westin Davies; his daughter Trycaen Mae of Sidney, MT; his sisters, Dorothy Mayberry (Buck) of Miles City, MT and Delena Sexton of Belle Fourche, SD; his brother-in-law Randy Gilbert of Deatsville, AL; his brother Larry Oja (Cathy) of Aledo, TX; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Miller (Nylla) of Bowman, ND and Bonnie Bowers of Rapid City, SD. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

One of his favorite moments was being recognized for his contribution to the youth in rodeo.
