He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schlabs and Gladys Schlabs; and his siblings, Jack Schlabs, Andrea Connor and Vicky Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann (Young); his sister Karen Saurey (Gary); and his children, Jeffrey Schlabs, Julie (Steven) and Jay Schlabs (Tanya). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lakeside Chapel Community Church.
