He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Dettmann and Verna Dettmann; his close friend Shirley Astle; his brothers, Alan and Larry Dettmann; and his son Mack Dettmann.
He is survived by: his sister Linda Dettmann; his daughter Katie Banks (Matt); his daughter-in-law Sheryl Dykstra (Jordon); and his grandchildren, Madison, Ainsley Dettmann, Emily Smith (Jesse), Ethan Banks (Sarah), Will Banks (Sarah) and Elizabeth Banks. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Darlington Cremation and Burial (3408 U. S. Hwy 2 E, Kalispell, MT 59901).
