William Elsworth Smithers Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Elsworth Smithers of Kalispell, Montana, who passed away on June 6, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though William has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Smithers (Mack) and Carl Smithers. He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Overman (Ben), William (Ellie), Kenneth (Corina) and Shelley Osteen (Dale); and his stepchildren, Ruthann Oberlitner (Mark Dickson), David Oberlitner (Gisele) and Tom Oberlitner (Brenda). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, (one deceased) and ten great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (540 S Main St, Kalispell, MT 59901).
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Presbyterian church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
