He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Nelson and Marlene Nelson (Murray); his nephew Byron Myers; and his grandparents, Thomas and Thelma Murray.
He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Brown; his children, Dale Raymond Nelson (Anna) and Christopher Niles Nelson (Liz); his grandchildren, Lauren Nelson, Eric Nelson, Jesse Nelson, Isaiah Barks, Zoey Marty-Nelson and Sophia Marty-Nelson; and his brothers, Brian Murray, Dale P. Nelson and Grant Nelson.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 23rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Schnackenberg & Riddle Funeral Home Chapel (422 W 2nd St, Libby, MT 59923). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Libby Assembly of God Church (105 Collins Ave, Libby, MT 59923). A burial was held on Friday, April 24th 2026 at the Libby Cemetery.
