He is survived by : his children, Courtney Backer (Matt) of Kansas City, Missouri and Shane Kardash of Longview, Texas; his sisters, Janet Bannon (Barry) of Livingston and Ellen Kardash of Minneapolis, Minnesota; his nieces, Brooke and Betsi; his nephew Billy Bannon; and his close friend Carol Peavey.
