He was predeceased by: his parents, John T. Johnson and Emma Olson Johnson; his brothers, Lawrence, Kenneth and Buddy; and his brothers-in-law, Howard Fauley, Don Lietz, Bruce Ostby, Norm Beach and Bobbie K. Beach.

He is survived by: his wife Judy; his sons, John Jr. (Carma), Jeffrey (Jenny) and Jim; and his grandchildren, Brandi Sinerius (Chris), Bill Johnson (Michonne), Kaleb Johnson (Micinzie), Chloe Johnson (Cody), Jon Connor, Jesse and Jillian Johnson. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends.

In keeping with his wishes, memorial contributions may be made to the Martin City Volunteer Fire Department in lieu of flowers.
