It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ellen Lorraine Bloomgren of Missoula, Montana, born in Libby, Montana, who passed away on October 31, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Ellen departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Ellen. Though Ellen may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her husband Blaine Bloomgren; her daughter Janet; and her granddaughter Nora Menke. She is survived by: her daughter Christina McElmurry (Rich) of Missoula; her grandchildren, Susan Schafer (Derek) of Ritzville, Patrick Fox (Holly) of Helena, Blaine McElmurry (Kristine) of Missoula and Catherine Walker (Travis) of Missoula, Montana; and her son-in-law Dennis Fox of Hardin, Montana.. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
Her family requests that memorials be made to First Lutheran Church, Missoula, Montana or the University of Montana Foundation, the Blaine and Ellen Family scholarship.
