He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Daniel E. "Ned" Staples (Anne Jane Shields-Staples) and Jane; and his brother Jim. He is survived by: his wife Kimberly Altmaier-Staples; his son Lance (Pamela Altmaier); his grandchildren, Bannack and Sawyer; his daughter Desiree (Bridger Skillicorn); his siblings, Dan, Steve, Tom and Sally; and his siblings' children, Madeline, Nick, Jack, Sean and Riley.
