He was predeceased by: his parents, Carvin Carl and Mildred Amanda Smith (Gilbert); his daughter Valerie; and his wife Lin (Petersen). He is survived by: his brother Walt (Roberta); his children, Ray (Linda), John (Heather), Carla (Paul), Brad (Brenda) and Helen (Greg); and his stepdaughter Molly (Mike). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Ray requested donations be made to Shodair Hospital in Helena, MT. If you'd prefer, the family also feels it appropriate to donate to Trotting Horse Therapeutic Riding in Missoula.
