He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmer Westgard and Helen Westgard; his in-laws, Edwin, Rhoda Christianson and Bud Franzen; and his son Dean Westgard.
He is survived by: his sons, Bruce (Chris), Lance (Terril) and Marty (Leann); his grandchildren, Cody Westgard, Kalyne Westgard, Cortny Lakes (Mark), Hallie Wiseman (Seth), Abby Schmitz (Cordell), Makenzie Shewmake (Aaron), Makayla Christenson (Marcus), Parker Westgard (Kaylee) and Jager Westgard (Kourtney); his sister-in-law Marlene Vogel; and his sibling's children, Darcel Whitezel (Shane) and Kevin Vogel (Beth).
A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. A burial was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at the Westby Cemetery.
