He was predeceased by: his wife Winona Howard; his parents, Bruno Garbel and Minda Garbel; and his siblings, Lyle and Violet.
He is survived by: his daughter Kathrin (Greg Weidner); his grandchildren, Aaron (Jessica), Wade (Natale), Joseph (Katie) and Sheena (Todd Nelson); his son Donald (Kay); his grandchildren, Lynn (Chris Seime), Samuel, Matthew (Mandy), Sarah (Trevor Thomte) and Levi (Melanie); his son Lee; his granddaughter Margaret; his daughter Janice (Lynn Jacobson); his grandchildren, Amy (Neil Shaw), Nathan (Rebecca) and Devin (Suzie); and his sister Delores Mothershed. He is also survived by 35 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Concordia Lutheran Church (204 Main St NE, Crosby, ND 58730).
