She was predeceased by : her parents, Louise Hitchcock and Rulon Hitchcock; her sister Donita; and her children, Jeffrey, Tracey and Derek.

She is survived by : her husband Robert G Starkel (Bob) of Perma; her sons, Robert J. (Kim) of Alexander and Justin (Autumn) of Perma; her siblings, Edna, Koreen, Florence and Clayton; her grandchildren, Robert D. (Alyssa) of Libby, Emilee (Kaleb) of Dillon and Kohltin of Ronan; and her great grandchildren, Kezlee Lamey, Georgia Birney, Robert T. Starkel and Saylor Birney. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

“Bob, Heidi just told me of Joyce's passing. I wish I could be there to add my shoulder for support. I'll call as soon as I can find your phone number. She was too young for this. The only blessing is that she will have two young children to greet her and a loving Lord to hold her in his arms. Very few days go by that I forget the good and the sad times we shared.
