He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Copley Eshler and Robert J. Copley; his sister Rita Hartfield; his nephew Tom Hartfield; his great-nephew Ron Harnish; his niece Jodi Pineda; and his stepdaughter Beverly Wilson.

He is survived by: his close friend Judy Winn; his wife Ruby Kerr Copley; his children, Michelle Burnett (Bill) and Micheal "Sean" Copley; his stepchildren, Leonard Gergen, Iris Slocum and Shelly Gergen; his grandchildren, Justin, Adrian, Nathan, Cory, Brandon, Ashley and Amanda; his great grandchildren, Ryah, Malia, Kloe, Ella, Clara and Hallie; his nephew Brian Cofield; his niece Traci Wild; his great-nephew Gabriel; his niece Polly Hartfield; and his children, Madeline and Mason.

“Mickey was a lifelong friend. We went through all twelve grades in Great Falls. MIck was well-liked by everyone. He had a wonderful sense of humor, sometimes self deprecating. My friendship with him was cemented in the sixth grade when I hung out with him, Russ Kukay, and Jim Peterson on Fifth Avenue S.W. I talked with him a few months back. I'm going to miss him. I was looking forward to seeing him at the 60th class reunion. Farewell, old friend.”
