He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerome Monroe and Magdalena "Maggie" Monroe; his son Kip Monroe; his siblings, Robert, Richard, Harry Lee Monroe and Agnes Leys; and his siblings-in-law, Dick Garman and Rose Monroe.
He is survived by: his wife Myrna Monroe; his daughter Teri; his son-in-law Tom Belnap; his daughter Roni; his son-in-law Jody Habel; his grandchildren, Trevor Belnap (Cody Leatherman), Thane Belnap (Randy Neureuter), Marisa Schlemper (Zoey Schlemper), Darin Habel (Nicole Habel) and Mikenzie Habel (Logan Herman); his sister Alice Garman; and his brother-in-law Bill Leys. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A rosary was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the St. Francis Catholic Church (616 4th St, Valier, MT 59486). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Valier Fire Department, Valier Education Foundation Dick Monroe Scholarship, and the Valier Senior Center.
