“I just learned of Marian's death today, Aug. 15/23. She was my friend. For many years I sent Marian an annual subscription to The New Yorker magazine, because she was so well read, and loved that magazine. Today I received a letter from The New Yorker that the NC US Post Office can no longer delivere Marian's issue.. I knew had family. Was there no funeral?
