She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Veasey (Bob) and Margaret Veasey (Hilliard). She is survived by: her siblings, Jean Veasey Fromson (Gerald) of Winston Salem and Bob Veasey, Jr. (Vickie) of Florence; her children, John Burns (Sherrie) of Winterville and Laura Burns Andrews of Pinehurst; her granddaughters, Anna Burns, Emily Palmer (Dawson), Mary Kate Burns and Alexandria Andrews; and her great grandchild Shepherd John Palmer. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Boles Funeral Home Chapel (425 W Pennsylvania Ave, Southern Pines, NC 28387). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in honor of Mary's life be made to the Feline Friends of Moore County, PO Box 241, Southern Pines, NC 28388 and the Stephen Ministry program at Brownson Presbyterian Church, 330 S. May Street, Southern Pines, NC 28387.
