It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Lee Dunbar of Aberdeen, North Carolina, born in Indianapolis, Indiana, who passed away on July 11, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Samuel Chester Dunbar and Bernice Haywood Dunbar; and his brother Garland Kent Dunbar. He is survived by : his wife Kay Collins Dunbar; his daughter Jennifer Dunbar Nobbe; his son-in-law James Nobbe of Pinehurst; his son John Dunbar; his daughter-in-law Erica Dunbar of Aberdeen; his brother Frank; his sister-in-law Mary Dunbar of Indianapolis, Indiana; his sisters, Florence Slatton of McMinnville and Judy Estel of Terre Haute, Indiana; and his grandchildren, Leo Nobbe, Jacob Dunbar and Ella Dunbar. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
