It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Dunning Walker of Advance, North Carolina, born in Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on December 17, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gray Walker, Jr. and Juanita Dunning Walker; and his sister Linda Kay Walker Bean. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his sons, Scott Walker (Cheryl) of Winston-Salem, NC, Wes Walker (Kerstin) of Pfafftown, NC and Brian Walker (Amanda) of Moore, SC.; his grandchildren, Rebecca Walker, Samantha Walker, Jarod Walker, Grayson Walker, James Price Walker and Julie Walker; his stepgrandson Giroux Morelock; his sisters, Anita Walker Hughes (Ernie) and Carol Walker Tatum (Chuck); and his aunt Julie Dunning Booth (Gerald). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
