She was predeceased by : her parent Viola Barrington. She is survived by : her husband John Lockard Barnes; her children, John Barnes (Sandy) of Olney, MD, Susan Slagle (Jim) of Greensboro, NC and Paul Barnes of Rochester, NY; and her grandchildren, Amanda Summerhill (Vance), Sean Barnes (Jen) and Daylon Slagle.
