It is with sadness that the passing of Jack Barnwell Parnell Jr. (Advance, North Carolina) is shared. Jack, born on December 19, 1949, passed away on September 7, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Jack will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Jack by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Jack is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Jack’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Parnell and Virgie Laramore Parnell; his son Jack "Butch" Parnell, III; and his grandson L. J. Parnell. He is survived by: his wife Michelle Parnell; his daughters, Angie Borst (Justin) of Elon, Sarah Krokan of Winston-Salem, Ashton Cross (Matt) of Suffolk, VA. and Brittney Davis of Winston-Salem; his sister Kathy Boykin (Charlie) of Tallahassee, FL; and his uncle Gene Laramore of Kernersville. He is also survived by four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
