He was predeceased by: his father Herbert Wilson "Butchie" Ragsdale; and his wife Lois Lockett Ragsdale. He is survived by: his children, Sara Ragsdale Eskridge (Joseph Dixon Eskridge, Jr.) of Lynchburg, VA and Scott Edward Ragsdale (Rene Thurman) of Knoxville, TN; his granddaughters, Emmaline Woodley Eskridge, Elizabeth Walker Eskridge and Ella Webb Eskridge; and his cousin Charles Ragsdale.
