She was predeceased by : her parents, Nathaniel Lee and Minnie Bullins Pruitt; her husband Daniel McKinley Matthews; her great grandchild Sonya Christine Pegram; and her brother Jack Pruitt.

She is survived by : her children, Randall Matthews (Susan) and Darlene Pegram (James); her grandchildren, Nathan (Katie), Adam (Zoided), Rachel (Ben), Grant (Elizabeth), Derek (Hannah), Grace and Hannah; her sisters, Irene Shields and Leona Cox; her grandmothers, Lou Pitts, Lula Mae Bullins and Terry Pruitt (Angela); and her sisters-in-law, Mary Bennett and Judy Garmon. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
