He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Ferreira and Lucy Sequeira Ferreira; his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Ferreira; and his siblings, Armando Ferreira and Hilda Whalen.

He is survived by: his children, Nelson Ferreira (Karen), Richard Ferreira, Linda Amazon (Alan) and Kathleen Mazur (Paul). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
