With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Monroe James (Advance, North Carolina), born in Davidson, North Carolina, who passed away on February 16, 2023 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, William Franklin and Ruth Mendenhall James; his former life partner Ila "Lois" Shipley James; and his siblings, David James, Clarence James, Edna James Nelson and Jeanette James.

He is survived by : his wife Jean W. James; his children, Cindi Stokes (Brent), Christi Rose (Lonnie), Debbie Pittman, Kaye Greenwood (Randy) and David Creed (Anne); and his siblings, Kenneth James (Brenda), Richard James (Janet), Bruce James (Phyllis), Doyle James (Karyn) and Audrey Sink. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
