She was predeceased by : her parents, Nehmiah Pope and Lillie Mae Reynolds Pope; and her husband Vanie Allen Simmons. She is survived by : her children, Vanie Simmons of Cofield, NC, Steve Simmons of Hampton, Debbie Simmons of Cofield, NC, Sandra Reid of Detroit, Mich, Barbara Simmons of Ahoskie, NC and Jacqueline Suriel of Waterbury, Conn.. She is also survived by five siblings, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
