He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sullivan Futrell and Lettie Elizabeth Martin Futrell; his siblings, Johnny Futrell and Libby Rawls; and his sister-in-law Paula Futrell.
He is survived by: his wife Anne Dickens Futrell; his children, Melissa Futrell Spence (Bobby) of Raleigh, NC and Jeffrey "Jeff" Futrell (Angela Waters) of Williamston, NC; his grandchildren, Camden Spence of Raleigh, NC, Allison, Jonathan Futrell of London, KY and Chad Ricks (Tiffany) of Seaboard, NC; and also, Kim Ricks (Grady) of Seaboard, NC, Lisa Futrell of Conway, NC and Kelly Futrell III of Wakefield, VA..
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ashleys Grove Baptist Church (2152 Ashleys Grove Rd, Conway, NC 27820). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Ashley's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery (2152 Ashleys Grove Rd, Conway, NC 27820).
