Though James Edward may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James Edward touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He is survived by: his father Rev. Al Hughson; his wife Diane of Ahoskie; his sister Jean Fuller (Jason) of Midlothian, VA; and his sibling's children, Rachel Rohr and Ryan Rohr. He is also survived by many extended family members and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service (205 NC-42, Ahoskie, NC 27910). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Edgewood Cemetery.
