He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Edward Newton and Mildred BeeBee Lodholtz; his former wife Etta Jeanette Howerton Newton; his brothers, Dennis Newton, Robert Newton and David Riberty; and his friends, Rudolf "Rudi" Muehl and Aubrey "Pop" Simpson.
He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Irene Newton Cohen (Nathan), Daniel Joseph Newton and Richard "Rich" David Newton (Kimberly); his grandchildren, Emily Elizabeth Newton, Gabriel Ellis Newton, Chloe Carolyn Newton and Ashley Jewell Petersohn; his brothers, Larry Newton (Reggie), Lonnie Newton (Alice) and Joe Newton; his fiancée Naomi Lewis; his pet Nikki; his extended family, Max Harrison, Mark Harrison, Tyler Harrison, Michael Harrison and Lisa Strader; and his siblings-in-law, Edker Howerton, Carolyn Fitch (Gerald "Doc"), Marcie Howerton and Debbie Black (Charles). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
