He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Whitesell Finley; his father Samuel Gwyn Finley; his granddaughter Katy Tilley Dean; and his sister Ruth Finley Wakefield. He is survived by: his daughters, Sherri Davila (David) of Sneads Ferry, Susan Tilley (Tony) of Wilson and Nancy Carpenter (Brooke) of Burlington; his grandchildren, Adam Davila, Caleb Carpenter and Caroline Carpenter; his great grandchildren, Sammy, Sawyer and Scarlett Dean; and his sister Betty Finley Schwartz (Gary). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
