She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie William and Bertha McLester Speight; her husband Vernon C. Almond; and her siblings, Ray, Gad of Ruel, C. J., Earl, Max, Bernice Burleson and Helen Teeter.
She is survived by: her daughters, Merle Brooks (Don), Reba Funderburk (Del) and Sheila Sikes; and her brother Keith Speight (Sue). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (17236 Frog Pond Rd, Oakboro, NC 28129). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
