He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Morton Vanhoy; his children, Mitchell Vanhoy (Heather) of Albemarle, Timmy Vanhoy (Celena) of Albemarle and Jessica French (Tyler) of Albemarle; his grandsons, Gabriel David Vanhoy and Elijah Gray Vanhoy; and his siblings, Randy Vanhoy of Albemarle, Curtis Vanhoy Jr. of Albemarle, Cathy Locklear, Pam Locklear of Albemarle and Pat Kittredge of Mount Pleasant.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Baptist Church (26753 Burleson Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
