She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry J. Turner and Mary Louise Lowder Turner; her siblings, Shelvia Turner Rummage and Jonah Richard Turner; and her close friend Gene McAlister.
She is survived by: her children, Helen Bujard of Clemmons, Kathryn "Missy" Fields of Albemarle and David L. Burleson (Cathy) of Albemarle; her grandchildren, Brandon Burleson (Anna) of New Bern, Jordan Thompson (Char) of Concord, Kathryn Bujard of Greensboro and Rachel Hartness (Daniel) of Newton; and her great grandchild Isabelle Burleson of New Bern. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
