It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Eugene Garrett of Albemarle, North Carolina, who passed away on December 14, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Moses Garrett and Margaret Ingle Garrett; his former wife Naomi Underwood Garrett; his son Allen Garrett; and his siblings, Jerome Garrett and Joyce Ann Candelaria.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean Howard Garrett; and his sons, Ed Morton (Annette) of Denver, CO and David Morton (Melinda) of Uma, AZ. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
