She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Haywood Gaddy, Sr. and Mallie Miranda Smith; and her siblings, Irene Pope and Craven Gaddy. She is survived by: her husband Robert Baxter "Bobby" Atkinson; her daughter Melissa Joy Preslar (Darren) of Norwood; her grandchildren, Wyatt, Declan and Miles Preslar; and her siblings, Annie Mae Gaddy, Priscilla Jameson of Ansonville, Elsie Gaddy, Louise Gilmore (Ricky) of Norwood, Donald Gaddy of Polkton, Walter Gaddy, Jr. (Cindy) of Polkton and Calvin Gaddy of Mount Gilead.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM and from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at 17236 Frog Pond Rd, Oakboro, NC 28129.
