She is survived by: her son Rufus Watkins; her siblings, Erwin Watkins, Eugene Watkins, Slade, Virginia Carpenter and Louise Tyson; her goddaughter Carol Burton; her niece Wilma Owens; her children, Benny Carpenter and Mona Lisa Carpenter; her grandchildren, Quintin, Crystal (Rodney), Malia, Andrea, Trancy (Simone), Ervin, Antoinette and Anthony; her great grandchildren, Jakeria (Jonathan), Jasmika and Anysha; her great great grandchildren, Jhazir, Jaya, Jonathan Jr., Jorney and Gianni; her goddaughters, Roseanna Hayes, Nakia Copeland, Debbie Klutz and Helen Alexander; and her nieces, Nadine Alford, Loretta Carpenter, Lorraine Watkins, Melva Watkins and Elaine Butler.
Viewing was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Kelsey Funeral Home (217 T E White Sr Dr, Albemarle, NC 28001). Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Bennettsville A. M. E. Zion Church (8542 Whitley Rd, Norwood, NC 28128). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
