He is survived by: his wife Pauline Russell Carpenter; and his nieces and nephews, Donnie Lowder (Beverly), David Lowder (Traci), Melissa Torres (Adam), Allison Dennis (Paul), Susan Hefley, Lorraine Hill (Billy), Ralph Carpenter, Sammy Carpenter, Brittney Cotter, Julie Stiles, Cole Curlee, Bret Curlee, Luke Torres, Corey Dennis, Calvin Lowder (Cedal), Linda Lowder, Melanie Harris (Chuck) and Chad Lowder (Tonya). He is also survived by many other extended family members and countless close friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care - Albemarle (1835 Badin Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Fairview Memorial Park (1425 E Main St, Albemarle, NC 28001).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in George's memory to Grace Baptist Church, 644 Edgemont Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
