He is survived by : his wife Maxine Speights Underwood; his children, Tony Underwood (Saundra) of Albemarle, Terry Underwood (Nina) of Albemarle and Tracy Burgess (Kaylene) of Mt. Gilead; his grandchildren, Jill Underwood, Wesley Underwood, Scotty Burgess, Travis Burgess and Daniel Underwood; and his great grandchildren, Logan Underwood and Preston Underwood.
