He was predeceased by : his parents, Loyd Kiser and Dewey Kiser. He is survived by : his son Gene Harvey; his siblings, Sharon Mabe, Larry, Jimmy and Randy Kiser; his children, Michelle Melton (David) and James Harvey; his siblings, Kenneth Kiser (Phyllis), Harvey Kiser (Shirley), Donald Kiser, Vicki Johnson (Larry) and Wanda Hagins (Chris); his granddaughters, Meghan Knight and Monica Puckett (Dustin); his significant other Finally; and his pet Darla.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Life and Legacy Funerals and Cremations (6525 Old Monroe Rd, Indian Trail, NC 28079). A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Waxhaw Baptist Church Cemetery (8213 Old Waxhaw Monroe Rd, Waxhaw, NC 28173).
