He was predeceased by: his parents, Burnie Allen and Alice Louise Forrest Barringer; his son Jerry Ray Barringer; and his siblings, Doug Barringer, Glenn Barringer, Lorene Caudle and Sharon Corl.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Hartsell Barringer; his daughters, Patricia Hatley (Roger) and Tammy Sides (Bobby); his grandsons, Shane Hatley (Allison) and Travis Hatley (Bella); his great grandchildren, Hayden, Hinley, Holden and Zoey; and his brother Alonzo Barringer. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
