He was predeceased by: his parents, Terry Thompson and Sara Caudle Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Bullock Thompson; his children, Lee Thompson (Lee Ann) of Norwood, Aaron Thompson (Jessie) of Norwood, Chris Purkey (Bree) of Albemarle, Michael Purkey (Sam) of Albemarle, Bradley Thompson of Albemarle, Christian Thompson of Albemarle, Brittany Thompson of Albemarle and Courtney Thompson of Albemarle; his grandchildren, Eli, Amelia, Judah, AJ and Mya; and his aunt Debbie McRae (Max) of Mt. Gilead.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the building fund at Community Full Gospel Church: c/o Judy T Lee 13255B Apt 9 Deland Drive, Norwood, NC 28128.
