He is survived by: his wife Judith Riter; his children, Howard Riter (Karen) of Bolivia, NC and Reba Vail (Raymond) of Alexander, NC; his siblings, Ruth Baronowski of Mars Hill, NC, Phyllis Cain (Tom) of Mars Hill, NC and Keith Riter of Mars Hill, NC; his grandchildren, Jeremy Riter (Amber), Samantha Vail, Jesse Vail and Aiden Vail; and his great grandchildren, Oliver Riter, Adalie Riter and Jeremiah Vail.
